Gravel Camps

Overview

The south-east side of Lake Garda is a true paradise for gravel cycling — a region where vineyard tracks, white gravel roads, and hidden countryside trails connect into endless adventures.

Dive into quiet paths through olive groves, farmland, and rolling hills. The terrain is varied — from smooth hard-packed gravel and grassy sections to stretches of strade bianche with small stones — always accessible and always rewarding. This area is perfect for riders who want a mix of scenic cruising, gentle climbs, and authentic Italian countryside exploration.

Our gravel camps explore some of the most beautiful areas around Lake Garda. The wine hills of Custoza and Lugana are full of rolling strade bianche that wind between vineyards and charming villages. The landscapes of Valpolicella combine gravel roads, shady lanes, and rustic farm tracks that feel untouched by time. And around Garda, the trails open to breathtaking lake views, with panoramic loops that capture the magic of riding gravel in Italy.

What makes our gravel camps special is their personal touch. We — Caro & Caro — live and ride here, and we want to show you not just the routes, but also the little hotspots, hidden corners, and Italian moments that have captured our hearts.

Each camp is crafted as an intimate small-group experience, shaped with care so that every detail truly matters.

At ciaocycling, our gravel camps are designed for small groups, with options for both mixed and women-only camps. Each camp blends performance-focused rides, technical workshops, and plenty of time to enjoy Italian dolce vita — from espresso stops to evening aperitivi. With its variety of gravel surfaces, from smooth vineyard tracks to rugged trails, Lake Garda is the perfect base for unforgettable gravel cycling adventures.

What they say about our gravel camps

"Caro's "Ladies Garda Gravel Camp" was simply brilliant. Caro lives and loves cycling in this region and her passion is infectious. The routes were planned in detail and were adapted to our needs even at short notice. We rode routes that aren't marked on any map and are known only to locals. Caro thinks of everything, from coffee stops at unusual locations and dinners with local specialties to uncomplicated, quick visits to the workshop in case of technical problems. I simply enjoyed the four days in a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

"I was part of the Ladies Garda Gravel Camp. The camp lasted a total of four days. Caro organized it with great care and, as a guide, showed us some very special routes and spots. The camp was very well organized overall, whether it was bike rentals, dinner, wine tasting, or something similar. Caro created a great group atmosphere with great attention to detail and had fantastic partners on hand. It was a wonderful experience!"

"I participated in Caro's "Ladies Garda Gravel Camp" – and it was simply unforgettable! 4 days full of diverse tours that took us to trails and viewpoints we would never have found on our own. Caro was with us the whole time, guiding us safely and showing us her favorite spots – from hidden gems to traditional, tourist-free cafés. The insights into her life on the ground were also particularly nice, making the whole experience even more personal. You can feel Caro's loving and cool demeanor and her eye for detail in everything – that's exactly what made this camp so special. I felt completely at home and am taking home many great memories. Highly recommended! 🚴‍♀️✨"
